Clark says.<\/p>\n<p>Isiah Garrett, 27, will serve 20 years to life behind bars for <a href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/police-man-fatally-shot-in-bronx-pharmacy-police-searching-for-4-suspects\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">shooting, beating and robbing<\/a> Avanti Frowner inside the Amazing Pharmacy at 595 East Tremont Ave. on June 9, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors say Frowner, 27, a Chicago native residing in LA at the time, was in town for a performance and went to the pharmacy with a friend to buy medication.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bronx.news12.com\/nypd-release-video-of-suspects-wanted-in-fatal-shooting-of-man-at-bronx-pharmacy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">A group<\/a> approached the rapper and his friend outside the pharmacy just before 2 a.m. and held them at gunpoint.<\/p>\n<p>Garrett, 27, forced Frowner into the pharmacy and onto the floor, where he and others \u201cseverely beat him,\u201d the DA\u2019s office says.<\/p>\n<p>Garrett then shot Frowner a dozen times in the torso. EMS rushed him to the hospital, where he died.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The victim, Avanti Frowner, known as &#8220;Vontae,&#8221; was in New York and needed medication at a pharmacy.
