The FDNY says it received a report of a gas explosion in the basement of a six-story apartment building in Bedford Park just after 12 p.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Con Edison told News 12 that crews responded to the incident at 18 East 198th St., but there was no explosion.<\/p>\n
It said there was an issue with a customer’s boiler and “is with the customer for further action.”<\/p>\n
Authorities said residents were initially instructed to evacuate the building but were allowed to return shortly afterward.<\/p>\n
