Showers and thunderstorms are expected to overspread the New York City area late Wednesday afternoon into the evening. Thunder is possible in and around the area. Some spots, mainly in southern New Jersey, could see isolated pockets of severe storms. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image_a8c3fd.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>After the heavy rain moves out, much cooler, occasionally damp, weather settles in for Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image_003045.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>On Friday, we bounce back up temperature-wise, and the weather should stay dry &#8212; an ideal setup for the Yankees&#8217; home opener against the Miami Marlins. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image_992530.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>Saturday is a must-be-outside kind of day, with highs in the 70s and ample sunshine. Clouds return on Easter Sunday, and the second half of the day should be unsettled and a bit rainy.
