Meghan Markle reportedly had ambitious goals for life within The Firm.<\/p>\n

According to royal journalist Tom Bower, the Duchess of Sussex thought she would one day be Queen over Kate Middleton<\/a>, despite Prince Harry<\/a> being fifth\u00a0in line\u00a0to the throne.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe really thought she, rather than\u00a0Kate, should be the next queen after\u00a0[the death] of\u00a0King Charles III,\u201d\u00a0the Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family author said during an appearance on the “Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered<\/a>” podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe [Meghan] couldn\u2019t understand why, [when] she was better looking, \u2026 more intelligent, harder working, and everything, [she shouldn\u2019t] be the queen,” Bower said. “And she hated the idea that she and Harry were relegated so far down the order \u2026 That\u2019s why, of course, she never intended to stay.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the writer, a royal courtier told\u00a0Queen Elizabeth II that “Megan thinks once she marries into the royal family, she\u2019s going to be God.\u00a0Which is pretty hilarious, but clearly, she believed it.” <\/p>\n

Following the claims in Bower’s new tell-all and claims about the Suits actress, Meghan and Harry issued a rebuttal. <\/p>\n

\u201c[Bower\u2019s] commentary has long crossed the line from criticism into fixation,\u201d a representative for the couple said in a statement via NBC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Royal correspondent\u00a0Jennie Bond believes the book “hit a very raw nerve” for Meghan and Harry. <\/p>\n
