ELMONT, NY \u2014 A 31-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning in connection with a pair of assaults that took place in 2024 and 2025, police said. <\/p>\n
Nassau County police said Elmont resident Jerald Lowe was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with second-degree assault, third-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an incident with serious injury and aggravated unlicensed operation. <\/p>\n
The arrests stem from a pair of incidents from recent years, police said, including a 2024 argument that turned physical and a 2025 car crash that left a 58-year-old woman with a fractured spine.<\/p>\n
In that 2025 crash, police said Lowe had been driving an unregistered, uninsured Toyota Solara when he ran a stop sign and hit a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Police said the crash caused Lowe\u2019s Toyota onto the sidewalk, where it hit a 58-year-old woman from behind and caused the spinal fracture. After the crash, Lowe got out of his car, got his things and fled the scene without calling police, police said. <\/p>\n
Lowe was arrested Tuesday at 5:50 a.m., police said. During an investigation, police said they found that Lowe had an open arrest warrant in Georgia for firearm possession, obstruction of law enforcement and reckless conduct. <\/p>\n
