This isn\u2019t about who\u2019s above who. This is about people showing up, standing side by side, and reminding everybody where power actually lives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">And on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 12:00 noon, that\u2019s exactly what happened.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">A little over 1,000 residents gathered across two locations, Warburton and Odell Avenue in Yonkers, and Warburton and Spring Street in Hastings-on-Hudson, for the third iteration of the No Kings Rally, co-sponsored by Concerned Families of Westchester (CFOW), NAACP-Yonkers Branch, NYCD16\/15-Indivisible, and Safeguarding Democracy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">What stood out wasn\u2019t just the turnout.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">It was how people arrived.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Not rushed. Not scattered. Just steady. Conversations already in motion. Signs are being adjusted with care. But doing that while relaying real-time directives from local police, ensuring both engagement and safety, requires awareness that extends beyond the microphone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The transitions stayed smooth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The energy stayed consistent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The space remained both structured and open.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">That balance doesn\u2019t happen by accident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The People Were the Center<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">More than 30 speakers stepped forward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Not curated for polish.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Curated for truth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">People of all ages, races, ethnicities, and communities took the mic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Senior voices like Joanne Robinson Bottcher.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Youth voices like Jonas Baer, grandson of Safeguarding Democracy leader John Baer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">And Thomas Hoffman, a Holocaust survivor, whose testimony brought a stillness that didn\u2019t need to be explained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Each voice added to the shape of the day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Presence Over Position<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Elected officials joined, offering brief remarks and standing with the crowd:<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Senator Shelley Mayer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">County Legislator David Imamura.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Yonkers City Council Member Corazon Pineda-Issac.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Greenburgh Town Board Member Ellen Hendrix.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Ardsley Trustee Barry McGoey.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">They participated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">They stood alongside.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">They remained part of the space, not separate from it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Music, Reflection, and Closing Moments<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">As the rally continued, the tone shifted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Live music, with guitars and a trumpet, played by Howard, Phillip, and Aaron, introduced a more reflective pace.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThis Land is Your Land\u201d was shared across voices.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">A brief moment of silence followed, honoring service members on active duty and their families.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The silence held.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Then it transitioned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Kory Skipper-Miller led \u201cWhen the Saints Go Marching In,\u201d and the closing carried forward rather than closing out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">No Kings. Just People.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">By the end, the movement slowed but didn\u2019t stop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">People lingered. Conversations continued.
