However, parking meters will remain in effect on Thursday, according to a social media post from the New York City alternate-side parking X account<\/a>.<\/p>\n Usually, when alternate-side parking is in effect, you cannot park on the side of the street being cleaned. These rules apply for the entire time posted on the sign, even after a street sweeper has passed.
