{"id":183272,"date":"2026-04-02T10:31:32","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T10:31:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/183272\/"},"modified":"2026-04-02T10:31:32","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T10:31:32","slug":"news-12-brooklyn-baby-girl-killed-in-bushwick-shooting-hit-by-stray-bullet-as-gunfire-erupts-on-busy-corner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/183272\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Brooklyn | Baby girl killed in Bushwick shooting, hit by stray bullet as gunfire erupts on busy corner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 7-month-old girl was <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklyn.news12.com\/baby-killed-by-stray-bullet-in-bushwick-shooting-manhunt-underway\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">killed in a shooting<\/a> in Bushwick Wednesday afternoon, after being hit by a stray bullet while sitting in a stroller.<\/p>\n<p>\tIt happened around 1:20 p.m. at the corner of Moore Street and Humboldt Street.<\/p>\n<p>\tPolice say two people were riding a moped through the area \u2014 going the wrong way down the street \u2014 when the person in the back pulled out a gun and started shooting.<\/p>\n<p>\tAt the time, several adults and children were outside on the corner.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe baby was struck in the head by a stray bullet.<\/p>\n<p>\tPolice say her father rushed her to NYC Health + Hospitals\/Woodhull, but she did not survive. She was pronounced dead a short time later.<\/p>\n<p>\tInvestigators believe the shooting was gang-related.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe scene quickly turned chaotic.<\/p>\n<p>\tA nearby worker told News 12 the moment the baby\u2019s mother realized what had happened.<\/p>\n<p>\t\u201cWhen she looked to the stroller and saw the baby bleeding, she went crazy and left,\u201d the worker said. \u201cBullet in the head, and a lot of milk in the mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\tAfter the shooting, the two people on the moped sped off but crashed just a few blocks away.<\/p>\n<p>\tPolice say the passenger \u2014 believed to be the shooter \u2014 was thrown from the bike and later taken to the hospital. He is now in custody in connection to a separate case as investigators work to determine his role in this shooting.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe driver of the moped is still on the run.<\/p>\n<p>\tPolice describe him as a young man last seen wearing gray pants, a white T-shirt and a black mask, with long hair.
