If you needed a reason to plan a bar-hopping trip (or, realistically, 50 reasons), here it is: the extended ranking for North America\u2019s 50 Best Bars<\/a> has just dropped, spotlighting the places currently shaking and stirring up great nights out across the continent.<\/p>\n

This newly released 51\u2013100 list, which is a predecessor to the official top 50 reveal that comes out next month, includes everything from neighborhood hangouts in Chicago<\/a> and Austin to destination-worthy cocktail dens in Mexico City<\/a>, Tulum and the Caribbean. \u201cBest bar\u201d no longer means white tablecloths and hush tones\u2014it can be everything from a freezer-door speakeasy, a neon-lit dive or a karaoke room that happens to have a killer drinks program.<\/p>\n

And if there\u2019s an overarching theme this year, it\u2019s personality. The bars that made the cut aren\u2019t playing it safe. Whether it\u2019s hyper-local ingredients, high-concept storytelling or just really, really good Martinis<\/a>, they\u2019re giving you a reason to remember exactly where you were when you ordered that drink.<\/p>\n
