The New York Ripper \u2014 real name Dom Frant \u2014 was introduced as an in-universe character on the first season when Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Claudette Wallace (Kadia Saraf) found a file on the mass-murderer in Leon Prater\u2019s (Peter Dinklage)\u00a0vault. The Ripper\/Frant was not depicted on screen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWell, we now know what his face looks like, and that his voice sounds a hell of a lot like a McDonald\u2019s commercial.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThough the Ripper may no longer be active as a killer, \u201che\u2019s found a new way to live into his infamy by continuing to taunt the survivors of his long-ago murder spree,\u201d according to the streamer\u2019s announcement on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCox will be able to pull this one off. Not only is the man a brilliant actor, he\u2019s got relevant experience: Cox played Hannibal Lecter in the 1986 film Manhunter. (Anthony Hopkins more-famously played the serial killer in 1991\u2019s The Silence of the Lambs.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tDexter: Resurrection, which resurrected Hall as Dexter Morgan, hails from showrunner Clyde Phillips. Hall also executive produces the sequel to Dexter, as does Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean and Katrina Mathewson. The streaming series hails from Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSeason one of Dexter: Resurrection is available on Paramount+ via its \u201cPremium\u201d plan, which used to be called Paramount+ with Showtime; the OG Dexter was a big Showtime series.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Clearly, the casting agents on Dexter: Resurrection are serious people.
