From poetry celebrations to classical music performances, the schedule offers something for everyone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>April\u2019s lineup kicks off with programs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brooklynpaper.com\/first-saturdays-brooklyn-museum-programming\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">centered<\/a> around \u201cSeydou Ke\u00efta: A Tactile Lens,\u201d a major exhibition honoring the influential Malian photographer Seydou Ke\u00efta. Designed with accessibility and interactivity in mind, stroller tours on April 22 from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. give caregivers and infants a chance to explore the exhibition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On April 9, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the museum will host an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brooklynmuseum.org\/programs\/art-history-happy-hour-keita-april-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Art History Happy Hour<\/a> inspired by Keita\u2019s work. The event features talks by curator Pauline Vermare alongside artist Chester Higgins Jr. and journalist Howard W. French, all reflecting on Ke\u00efta\u2019s enduring legacy. Tickets are $30 and include one specialty drink and after-hours admission to the exhibition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One of the month\u2019s marquee events, First Saturday, returns on April 4 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a literary twist. Titled<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brooklynmuseum.org\/programs\/first-saturday-april-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> \u201cInkwells,\u201d<\/a> the evening celebrates National Poetry Month with performances, readings and art-making inspired by global traditions. The museum\u2019s First Saturday series continues to draw large crowds by offering free after-hours access paired with exciting programming.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-240752\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/bkmuseum-first-saturdays.webp.jpeg\" alt=\"Brooklyn Paper April programming\" width=\"631\" height=\"420\"  \/>The \u201cFirst Saturdays\u201d programming will continue on April 4 for Brooklyn Museum \u201cInkwells\u201d event.Photo courtesy of Brooklyn Museum<\/p>\n<p>Families can also dive into creativity through the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brooklynmuseum.org\/exhibitions\/oliver-jeffers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> \u201cLife at Sea\u201d drop-in workshops<\/a>, inspired by the work of Oliver Jeffers. Held Wednesdays-Fridays, April 8-10 and 22, and Saturdays-Sundays, April 11-12 and 25\u201326, 12-4 pm, families can \u201ccreate colorful creatures and structures. Each afternoon centers on designing new ocean life, from coral to 3D fish, to add to \u2018Life at Sea.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra will perform a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brooklynmuseum.org\/programs\/pop-up-performances-brooklyn-symphony-orchestra-2024-2026\/04-12-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">free pop-up concert<\/a> on April 12 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Beaux-Arts Court. They will return for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brooklynmuseum.org\/programs\/brooklyn-symphony-orchestra-beethoven-saint-saens-mendelssohn-april-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">ticketed event<\/a> on April 26 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., where they will play selections from Beethoven, Saint-Sa\u00ebns and Mendelssohn. Tickets start at $20 and will be $30 at the door.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate Earth Day later this month, the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brooklynmuseum.org\/programs\/forces-nature-create-move-renew-april-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> \u201cForces of Nature: Create, Move and Renew<\/a>\u201d event invites visitors to \u201cexplore our connection to the natural world,\u201d with activities like body movement, engaging with the senses and art appreciation.
