Just when you thought New York nightlife had hit its ceiling, it\u2019s heading toward the top again\u2014by about 1,100 feet.<\/p>\n
Marquee Skydeck at Edge<\/a> is officially back for its second season, starting May 1, turning the highest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere into a full-blown open-air nightclub. Set 100 stories above Hudson Yards, the 21+ series brings Tao Group Hospitality\u2019s trademarks (read: big-name DJs, booming sound systems and a crowd ready to dance) to one of the city\u2019s most vertigo-inducing settings.<\/p>\n If you went last year<\/a>, you already know the deal. If you didn\u2019t, picture this: you\u2019re dancing to a world-class DJ while the Manhattan skyline stretches out in every direction, the Hudson River just below and the wind occasionally reminding you just how high up you are.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s nowhere else in the world where you can party at this altitude, with this view and with the Marquee energy our guests love,\u201d Tao Group co-CEO Noah Tepperberg said last year, when the concept first launched.<\/p>\n This season\u2019s lineup is stacked from the jump. Italian dance legend Benny Benassi is slated for May 2, with other early acts including Kaz James (May 8), Layla Benitez (May 9) and Agents of Time (May 15), according to the event calendar<\/a>. Memorial Day weekend has Gareth Emery and MK both set to take over the decks, followed by names like Hot Since 82 later in June. And that\u2019s just the start\u2014more artists are expected to be announced as the season unfolds.<\/p>\n The setup itself hasn\u2019t changed much, which is a good thing. Marquee Skydeck fully embraces the spectacle of Edge<\/a>, adding in lighting, sound and production that makes it feel more like a full-scale club than a temporary pop-up. It\u2019s part of Tao Group\u2019s broader footprint at the venue, where it already operates Peak restaurant and other hospitality spaces.<\/p>\n
