A royal author claims that Prince Harry<\/a> faced scrutiny for Meghan Markle<\/a>‘s past actions, leading to her being “unwelcome” at Balmoral after Queen Elizabeth<\/a>‘s death.<\/p>\n

Royal author Tom Bower reported in his book Betrayal that it was King Charles who delivered the news to Harry that Meghan shouldn’t travel to Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where Elizabeth died on September 8, 2022, at 96.<\/p>\n

Bower reported that Charles called Harry to share the news that Meghan was “unwelcome” after Harry expressed his need to have his wife there to support him. An excerpt from Betrayal was published by Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“When Charles heard that Meghan intended to come, he called Harry. That was unacceptable,” Bower reported.<\/p>\n

“Since Meghan had refused the Queen\u2019s invitations to Balmoral in the Queen\u2019s lifetime, she was unwelcome at her death,” the author claimed. “Sharing his grief<\/a> with Meghan, who maligned the monarchy, was unthinkable. [Charles] believed that, to her dying day, his mother was shocked by Harry\u2019s disloyalty.”<\/p>\n

The author added that Meghan wasn’t the only royal wife not in attendance. Reportedly, Kate Middleton<\/a>, Prince William<\/a>‘s wife, was also not invited to Balmoral to pay her condolences.<\/p>\n

“Charles ended their argument by revealing that Kate would not be coming, so Meghan had not been picked on. Still fuming, Harry discovered that William, who was unwilling to wait any longer, had ordered the plane to take off,” Bower concluded.<\/p>\n

This moment was noted in an interview Harry had with Anderson Cooper<\/a>. PEOPLE Magazine<\/a> published an excerpt, echoing that same information.<\/p>\n

“I asked my brother \u2014 I said, ‘What are your plans? How are you and\u00a0Kate getting up there?’ And then, a couple of hours later, you know, all of the family members that live within the Windsor and Ascot area were jumping on a plane together, a plane with 12, 14, maybe 16 seats,” Harry wrote.<\/p>\n

“You were not invited on that plane?” asked Cooper. “I was not invited,” Harry responded.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended Queen Elizabeth’s funeral together alongside other senior royals in September 2022.<\/p>\n
