A 21-year-old man is set to be charged with murder in connection with the death of a 7-month-old girl who was fatally shot in Brooklyn on Wednesday, the NYPD said.<\/p>\n

Amuri Greene, who is currently hospitalized, will also face two counts of attempted murder, police said Thursday.<\/p>\n

Police said the baby, Kaori Patterson-Moore, was sitting in her stroller near Humboldt and Moore streets in Williamsburg Wednesday afternoon when a suspect sitting on the back of a moped nearby fired two rounds.<\/p>\n

Patterson-Moore was struck by the gunfire and pronounced dead<\/a> at a nearby hospital, the NYPD said.<\/p>\n

After the shooting, the moped driver and passenger sped off and were eventually both flung off the vehicle when it crashed, according to police.<\/p>\n

The driver fled the scene, while the passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Patterson-Moore was not the intended target, and added that the shooting was believed to be gang-related.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmuri Greene has no arrest history in New York City,\u201d NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said at a news conference Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that he is a gang associate out of the Marcy Houses, and at this point right now there is a gang in the Bushwick Houses called MOE,\u201d Kenny added. \u201cAnd we\u2019re looking to see the possible connection between, a beef between the Marcy Houses, Bushwick Houses, meaning the gang MOE.”<\/p>\n
