A low-fare bus company is adding service from the Lehigh Valley to New York.<\/p>\n
OurBus, which already serves Allentown and Hellertown, said Tuesday that it is adding stops in Bethlehem and Easton.<\/p>\n
The company said the service, which operates Fridays, weekends and holidays, is designed to offer a lower-cost option while maintaining flexibility and convenience. One-way fares are as low as $25.<\/p>\n
\u201cLehigh Valley has strong demand for flexible, reliable, and affordable travel to New York City, especially from communities like Bethlehem and Easton,\u201d Axel Hellman, co-founder of OurBus, said in a news release. \u201cBy adding these stops and increasing frequency, we\u2019re giving travelers more options while continuing to build service based on what customers are asking for.\u201d<\/p>\n
In addition to the new stops on its New York route, which originates in Douglassville, Berks County, and includes stops in Reading and Kutztown, there will be additional frequency for the stops in Allentown and Hellertown.<\/p>\n
OurBus will use the Easton Intermodal Transportation Center on Third Street, while the Bethlehem stop is near Lehigh University.<\/p>\n
The company, founded in 2016, uses a crowd-sourced, demand-driven model that combines data analytics, rider feedback and partnerships with local operators to launch and scale routes where demand is strongest. Buses include free Wi-Fi and water, live GPS tracking, charging ports, onboard restrooms and 24\/7 rider support.<\/p>\n
