\nHAMDEN, Conn. \u2013 The Quinnipiac softball team is back home this weekend for a MAAC series against Manhattan University.
\n\u00a0

\nFirst pitches are set for 12:00 p.m & 2:00 p.m. on Friday and 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
\n\u00a0
\nSCOUTING MANHATTAN<\/p>\n


\n\tThe Jaspers enter the weekend with a 8-22 overall record and 4-7 MAAC record.
\n\tSophia Kiseloski leads the team in various categories including batting average (0.328), OPS (0.874), doubles (8), home runs (4), and RBI (34).
\n\tPitcher Karissa Spring has started 27 games for Manhattan, tossing 150 innings with a 4.71 ERA. Spring has allowed 125 runs on 176 hits while recording 87 strikeouts.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

BOBCAT BREAKDOWN<\/p>\n


\n\tThe Bobcats are currently 11-3 in conference play, their best start since being in the MAAC, although dropping their first MAAC series to Rider 2-1 last weekend.
\n\tSofia Vega<\/a> hit 7-for-15 (.467) against Merrimack and Rider, recording a double, two triples, four RBI, and five runs scored while also drawing three walks.
\n\tThe senior has recorded six multi-hit games in her last 11.
\n\tVega leads the team in various categories: batting average (0.427), OPS (1.082), runs scored (19), and triples (3).
\n\tMary Fogg<\/a> has recorded at least one hit in 19 of 25 games this season.
\n\tFogg was on a 10-game hitting streak between 2\/20-3\/14.
\n\tRiley Potter<\/a> has recorded a hit in seven of her last eight games, three being multi-hit performances.
\n\tFour Bobcats are perfect in stolen bases this season with Aryn Bombery<\/a> leading 4-for-4.
\n\tAll nine starting batters hold an average at or above 0.250 and OPS above 0.690.
\n\tShannon Kendall<\/a> posts a 11-6 record with a 4.83 ERA. Kendall has recorded 33 strikeouts. <\/p>\n

MAAC PRESEASON<\/p>\n


\n\tThe Quinnipiac Softball team was voted to 7th in the MAAC Preseason Poll after last season ended in the MAAC opening round against the Rider Broncs.
\n\tSenior outfielder Mary Fogg<\/a> was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Team.
\n\tFogg started 38 games and led the team in batting average (.333), hits (40), and multi-hit performances (9), while also being named Second Team All-MAAC. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Bobcats return 16 players from last year’s team.
\n\tMary Fogg<\/a> returns after a standout All-MAAC\u00a0 Second Team season, leading QU in various categories. Fogg was also named All-MAAC First Team and Rookie Team in 2023.
\n\tMadison Waltke<\/a> was named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team in 2025. Waltke finished conference play with the fourth best batting average on QU at .302 and the team-best OPS at .888.
\n\tJunior catcher Riley Potter<\/a> posted a 0.267 batting average, recording 31 hits and a team-high 10 doubles. <\/p>\n

LAST SEASON<\/p>\n


\n\tQU is coming off its best MAAC record in the past eight seasons, finishing conference play at 14-11. <\/p>\n

LEADING THE BOBCATS<\/p>\n


\n\tHead Coach Hillary Smith<\/a> enters her eighth season with the Bobcats after being named the eighth coach in program history.
\n\tAssistant coach Xen Penny<\/a> enters his first season with the Bobcats.
\n\tQU Softball alum Hannah Davis<\/a> also joins the coaching staff for her first season. <\/p>\n
