Over 100 fire and EMS personnel responded to a fire in Brownsville on Thursday.<\/p>\n
FDNY says that the call came in around 5 a.m. for a fire on the first floor of a building on Lott Avenue.<\/p>\n
Two people were seriously injured, while six people sustained minor injuries. All eight were taken to area hospitals for treatment.<\/p>\n
One tenant told News12 she just moved into her apartment there in January, and now she\u2019s left to start over. <\/p>\n
A vacate order is in place. The American Red Cross is assisting the families that live in the building with housing for the next few days. <\/p>\n
\u201cI just can’t believe this happened,\u201d said one tenant. \u201cI don’t even know where I’m going to start from, to be honest. I\u2019m still just in shock.\u201d<\/p>\n
