ELON \u2013\u00a0Freshman Gar Hindle<\/a> delivered the second walk-off hit of his young career Tuesday night, lifting the Elon baseball team (11-17) to an 8-7, 10-inning victory over Queens (7-21) at Latham Park.<\/p>\n Hindle’s RBI single in the 10th inning secured the win for the Phoenix. The Rye, New Hampshire, native also provided Elon’s first walk-off victory of the season, a 3-2 win over Fairfield earlier this year.<\/p>\n Cole Miller<\/a> turned in the longest outing of his collegiate career, tossing five innings while allowing two runs and striking out three in a no-decision.<\/p>\n HOW IT HAPPENED

\n\tAfter two scoreless innings, Elon opened the scoring in the third. A bases-loaded walk by Brent Smith<\/a> and a steal of home from Jackson Alford<\/a> gave the Phoenix a 2-0 lead.
\n\tQueens answered with a run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly.
\n\tElon added two more in the bottom half of the inning, as bases-loaded walks by Sam DuRoff and Smith pushed the lead to 4-1.
\n\tThe Royals chipped away in the middle innings, scoring twice to cut the deficit to one.
\n\tQueens surged ahead in the eighth, using two extra-base hits to plate three runs and take a 7-5 lead.
\n\tElon responded in the bottom of the eighth with three runs of its own. A walk by Jose Mariano<\/a>, a hit-by-pitch to Henry Akopov<\/a> and a sacrifice fly from Hindle each drove in a run, putting the Phoenix back in front, 8-7.
\n\tQueens tied the game in the ninth on an RBI single to force extra innings.
\n\tIn the 10th, Hindle delivered the decisive blow, lining a two-out single to right field to score Simon Hoffman<\/a> and secure the 8-7 win.

\n\tThe walk-off win was Elon’s second of the season, both coming by 8-7 and 3-2 margins against Fairfield and Queens, respectively.
\n\tGar Hindle<\/a> recorded Elon’s lone multi-hit performance.
\n\tJake Hajdu<\/a> extended his hitting streak to four games with a fourth-inning single.
\n\tJackson Alford<\/a> stole three bases and extended his on-base streak to nine games. He has 23 stolen bases this season and has recorded multiple steals in six games.
\n\tCole Miller<\/a> pitched a career-high five innings, throwing 60 pitches with three strikeouts and no walks.
\n\tKehler Hamilton<\/a> added two scoreless innings of relief with three strikeouts and no walks.
\n\tRJ Latkowski<\/a> earned his second win of the season, recording the final four outs.
