{"id":184754,"date":"2026-04-03T19:14:36","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T19:14:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/184754\/"},"modified":"2026-04-03T19:14:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T19:14:36","slug":"nearly-100-bronx-residents-take-part-in-no-kings-day-rally-in-pelham-bay-park-bronx-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/184754\/","title":{"rendered":"Nearly 100 Bronx residents take part in \u2018No Kings Day\u2019 rally in Pelham Bay Park \u2013 Bronx Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<img width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/1775243674_431_IMG_9619.jpg\" class=\"crop-center wp-post-image\" alt=\"no kings day\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/>\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>There was a large turnout for a No Kings Day rally at Pelham Bay Park.<\/p>\n<p>Photo by John Doyle<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 100 Bronx residents gathered at the Winged Victory Memorial in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nycgovparks.org\/parks\/pelham-bay-park\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Pelham Bay Park<\/a> to participate in a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bxtimes.com\/hundreds-rally-in-the-bronx-for-no-kings-day\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">No Kings Day<\/a>\u201d rally on Saturday, March 28.<\/p>\n<p>Part of a nationwide series of rallies, the No Kings Day rallies are meant to protest what many view as authoritarian actions by President Donald Trump and his administration.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-142272\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/1775243674_701_IMG_9661.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\"  \/>Photo by John Doyle\n<\/p>\n<p>The Pelham Bay Park rally was organized by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/cityislandindivisible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">City Island Indivisible<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chippewademsbx.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Chippewa<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/coopcitydemocraticclub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Co-op City<\/a> Democratic Clubs, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/bxlibertydems\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Liberty Democratic Association<\/a> and the Bronx Chapter of the <a href=\"https:\/\/workingfamilies.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Working Families Party<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The rally featured nearly a dozen speakers, including New York State Assemblymember Michael Benedetto and New York State Senator Nathalia Fernandez. Both expressed concern about what they viewed as a creeping authoritarianism originating in the federal government. Photo by John Doyle<\/p>\n<p>Many of those who spoke at the No Kings Day rally in Pelham Bay Park highlighted their opposition to the controversial war in Iran, the use of the military and ICE on American soil, the illegal tariffs punishing middle-class and working families and an erosion in environmental laws, workers\u2019 rights and civil rights, all of which have occurred under the current administration.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-142276\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/1775243675_449_IMG_9657.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\"  \/>Photo by John Doyle<\/p>\n<p>Among the nearly 100 people on hand were Rep.
