The gunman accused of killing a 7-month-old girl<\/a> during a botched Brooklyn gang hit confessed that he was aiming at the baby\u2019s father when he pulled the trigger \u2014 a claim the child\u2019s mother defiantly denied in an interview with the Daily News Saturday.<\/p>\n

In a recorded statement to detectives, alleged shooter Amuri Greene said he was aiming at little Kaori Patterson-Moore<\/a>\u2018s father and that the father \u201cwas the defendant\u2019s intended target,\u201d documents released in Brooklyn Criminal Court reveal.<\/p>\n

But Kaori\u2019s mother slammed the allegation, claiming that her fianc\u00e9 had nothing to do with their baby\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, he was not the target,\u201d Liana Moore told The News when reached Saturday. \u201cThat\u2019s not what it was. Everybody keeps saying that they came outside to target my fianc\u00e9, but he had nothing to do with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even the little girl\u2019s father, who isn\u2019t being named by this paper because he hasn\u2019t been accused of a crime, thinks he\u2019s partly responsible for his child\u2019s death, Moore said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow he\u2019s blaming himself for what happened to our daughter, and it\u2019s not his fault,\u201d Moore said. \u201cThey could have been aiming at anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mother said her fianc\u00e9 was not up to speaking to the press on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe doesn\u2019t want to talk to anybody,\u201d Moore said.<\/p>\n

Greene, 21, has been charged with murder, attempted murder and assault for opening fire into a crowd as he rode on the back of a scooter driven by Matthew Rodriguez, 18, near the corner of Moore and Humboldt Sts. in East Williamsburg Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

During their harried getaway, Rodriguez crashed the scooter a few blocks away. Greene suffered a broken leg in the crash and was quickly arrested.<\/p>\n

Rodriguez escaped to Pennsylvania, where he was grabbed by NYPD detectives<\/a> with the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force on Friday.<\/p>\n

The teen is expected to be extradited back to New York on Saturday. Charges were pending.<\/p>\n

During Greene\u2019s arraignment on his charges at Brooklyn Criminal Court Friday night, Brooklyn Assistant District Attorney Jordan Rossman said the gunman \u201cmissed his target but shot two of the target\u2019s children, fatally shooting a 7-month-old baby in the head and wounding the baby\u2019s 2-year-old brother.\u201d<\/p>\n

Greene, who is still hospitalized, was ordered held without bail Friday night.<\/p>\n

Kaori was sitting in a stroller when a bullet fired by Greene went through the infant\u2019s skull. The stray bullet also grazed her older brother\u2019s back.<\/p>\n

Once the bullets started flying, Moore raced her children to a nearby bodega, where she found blood on Kaori\u2019s face. Her father ran the child to Woodhull Hospital about seven blocks away, but doctors couldn\u2019t save her.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Moore said her son was still complaining of pain to his back.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to take him back to the hospital,\u201d she said. \u201cHe\u2019s still got a big circle bruise on his back. It\u2019s a big bruise.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also wounded in the shooting was 31-year-old Bernius Moldonado. A bullet that hit a wall behind her shattered and she was hit in the left calf with shrapnel.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am doing good. I\u2019m doing fine,\u201d she told the Daily News Friday. \u201c(My boyfriend) took out the metal pieces, and, you know, he\u2019s my doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI took it like a man,\u201d she said of the DIY surgery.<\/p>\n

Maldonado was outside a nearby grocery, waiting for her boyfriend when she heard several shots. Pandemonium erupted almost immediately.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it was fireworks at first,\u201d she recalled. \u201c(Then) I seen everybody, like, dodging and getting low. And then that\u2019s when I felt like something was burning in my leg.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s when we noticed that it was the baby that got shot,\u201d she said. \u201cThe father picked her up, and I told him to run with her to the hospital. And I stood behind with the mom, calling (the) cops, and telling them what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was lifeless,\u201d Maldonado said of the baby. \u201c(Her father) was gonna put her back in the stroller and run with the stroller. I was like, \u2018No, just run to the hospital!’\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mom just kept screaming \u2018My baby!\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cI felt heartbroken, \u2019cause I got four kids of my own, so that breaks my heart. I can\u2019t imagine something happens to my own kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maldonado didn\u2019t see the shooter and wasn\u2019t sure who he was aiming at. Her child goes to school with Kaori\u2019s older brother, she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are nice people. They didn\u2019t deserve that at all,\u201d she said. \u201cI hope they get justice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Within hours of the shooting, detectives began working on the theory that the gunman was aiming at Kaori\u2019s dad, who they believe has links to members of the Money Over Everything gang in the Bushwick Houses.<\/p>\n

The gang, known as MOE, is in the middle of an ongoing dispute with a crew Greene is associated with from the Marcy Houses, NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re still looking into that,\u201d Kenny said. \u201cWe know that he (Kaori\u2019s dad) does have an association with some other (Money Over Everything) gang members. He is not in our criminal group database as an MOE member but based on the geography and where he was at the time, we are looking into that.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Saturday, a prayer vigil was held on Moore St., where participants expressed their condolences over Kaori\u2019s death and prayed that the baby\u2019s family gets justice.<\/p>\n

But Moore wasn\u2019t thinking about justice as she planned her little girl\u2019s funeral.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t really change anything, my baby\u2019s still gone,\u201d Moore said about the arrests. \u201cI just hope they never come out.\u201d<\/p>\n
