IMPD says just after 3 p.m. on April 4, dispatchers received “numerous” 911 calls regarding shots fired near South Lynhurst Drive and West McCarty Street.<\/p>\n

INDIANAPOLIS \u2014 IMPD says a man was killed in a shooting\u00a0<\/a>Saturday afternoon on the west side of Indianapolis<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to IMPD, just after 3 p.m. on April 4, dispatchers received numerous 911 calls about shots fired in both the 800 block of South Lynhurst Drive<\/a> and the 800 block of Manhattan Avenue<\/a>. When officers arrived on scene, an additional 911 caller reported a person had been shot in a nearby alleyway.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Officers eventually found the victim, identified as an adult male, and he was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. However, police say he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.\u00a0<\/p>\n
