HAMDEN, Conn. \u2013 The Quinnipiac softball team dropped their first home game of the season, falling to Manhattan 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.

\nHOW IT HAPPENED
\nAfter three scoreless innings, Manhattan struck first with a two-run single before adding another run on a Quinnipiac error to take a 3-0 lead.<\/p>\n
The Bobcats got on the board in the fifth inning on Aryn Bombery’s<\/a> sacrifice fly to score Ally Hochstadter<\/a>, cutting the deficit to two.<\/p>\n Manhattan responded in the sixth with a two-run home run to extend its lead to 5-1 and held on the rest of the way.<\/p>\n Shannon Kendall<\/a> allowed four earned runs on nine hits while striking out two. The sophomore finished the weekend 1-1.

\n\tVega, Mary Fogg<\/a>, and Ally Hochstadter<\/a> registered all four hits for the Bobcats in today’s contest.
\n\tHochstadter recorded her third double of the season.
\n\tFogg extends her hit streak to four games.
\n\tAryn Bombery<\/a> recorded her 18th RBI of the season.
\n\tShannon Kendall<\/a> pitched her 10th complete game, moving to 12-7 on the season.

\nThe Bobcats make a quick trip down 95 for a midweek doubleheader at Fairfield on Tuesday, Apr. 7 at 12:00 p.m. & 2:00 p.m. before traveling to the Bronx for a non-conference matchup against Fordham on Saturday, Apr. 11 at 12:00 p.m. & 2:00 p.m.
