A bunch of bone-headed bandits tried to swipe an ultra-lux blue McClaren and other posh cars from a Midtown parking garage Sunday \u2014 only to be foiled by a pesky security gate, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The four or five robbers entered the garage on West 43rd Street near 11th Avenue in Hell\u2019s Kitchen in Manhattan just before 6 a.m., broke into the pricey rides, which also included a black Mercedes G Wagon, then tried to drive off with them, according to cops.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One of the thieves was able to make it out with the 2020 McLaren, which can run several hundred thousand dollars \u2014 but the criminal didn\u2019t get very far, crashing the six-figure sports car into a nearby pole.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt sucks,\u201d the sports car\u2019s owner later told The Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve seen a few cars like [the swiped blue one] in New York, but I didn\u2019t believe it was my car at first. I had to double-check.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce I did see it was my car, about a million things were going through my head,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
A quick-thinking parking attendant was able to stop the rest of the thieves from fleeing with the other fancy vehicles by shutting the garage\u2019s front metal gate to the street \u2014 although he took out a white Range Rover in the process.<\/p>\n
The gate went down on the Range Rover\u2019s hood as its scofflaw driver tried to flee with it, according to the NYPD and photos of the wild scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m shocked,\u201d said a man named Hassam, whose light-colored Volvo also was targeted, of the botched\u00a0heist.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMy car was severely damaged,\u201d he said, explaining its front glass was shattered. \u201cMy car key was inside. The car key was inside the car.\u201d<\/p>\n
