NEW YORK (WABC) — Coming up on Here and Now, a classic choreopoem for girls of color is reimagined with music at Lincoln Center.<\/p>\n
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Ntozake Shange’s powerful choreopoem, “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide \/ When the Rainbow Is Enuf.”<\/p>\n
To mark this milestone, Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series is presenting a re-imagined, musical treatment of the classic. It tells the stories of seven women who have suffered the indignities of a racist and sexist society.<\/p>\n
Joining us to discuss is composer, playwright and performer Natalie Brown.<\/p>\n
