Initial observations indicated a slope failure affecting the homeowner’s private property. On Thursday morning, the Town’s Commissioner of Public Works, DPW staff, the Town’s Fire Marshal, and I returned to the site to further assess the situation. The Town has contacted both New York State and Monroe County on behalf of the homeowner. Additionally, our Commissioner of Public Works reached out to the Town’s engineering firm to gather preliminary information to better understand the scope and potential impacts of the issue. This remains an active and evolving situation, and we will continue to monitor as the safety of those affected is of utmost importance.

13WHAM also reached out to Monroe County and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation on Saturday, but has not yet heard back.

_______

Irondequoit, N.Y.
