STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Those planning on making their way to church this Easter Sunday may want to pack an umbrella.<\/p>\n

There is a high probability that rain showers will impact New York City throughout the day this Easter, according to John Murray, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A cold front moving into the area on Sunday will bring wet weather with it. Rain could even begin falling as early as Saturday night, Murray told the Advance\/SILive.com.<\/p>\n

Murray expects light rain to come down on the city from at least 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

The daily high temperature is expected to reach around 68 degrees, with a forecast low of about 44, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n

Murray believes south\/southwest winds will measure between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts reaching up to 25 mph, particularly along the coasts.<\/p>\n

In total, the city is forecast to receive under half an inch of rain, Murray said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo not a whole lot of rain, but just enough to make for a damp day just with the duration of the rainfall,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
