Members of the MTA project team will share an in-depth look at the proposed 14-mile light rail route between Brooklyn and Queens.<\/p>\n

With the Interborough Express inching closer to reality, the New York Transit Museum is offering an opportunity to hear more about the proposed light rail project.<\/p>\n

Utilizing an existing freight line, the proposed mega-project<\/a> would knit together far-flung locations in Brooklyn and Queens. The 14-mile light rail route would run from the Brooklyn Army Terminal to Roosevelt Avenue in Queens, with connections to subway routes, bus stops, and the Long Island Railroad along the way. The IBX would comprise 19 stations<\/a>, with the majority in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

MTA team members will be on hand at the museum for an evening to share an in-depth look at the project. Planned speakers include Abdo Allam, vice president, commercial; Daphne Lasky, assistant vice president design executive; Jordan Smith, planning director; and Charles Gans, senior vice president project executive.<\/p>\n

The conversation takes place on Thursday, April 16 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the museum at 99 Schermerhorn Street. Tickets are required and are $15 for the general public and $10 for museum members. More info on the event can be found on the museum\u2019s event page online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As the environmental review<\/a> continues, the MTA is also heading out to community board meetings and seeking public feedback. The upcoming meeting dates can be found on the project site online<\/a> along with info sheets, the draft scoping document for the environmental review, and more materials.<\/p>\n
