Just when it seemed like\u00a0spring\u00a0was settling in<\/a>, winter has made a comeback.<\/p>\n

A fast-moving clipper system is sweeping through the\u00a0Northeast, bringing light\u00a0snow\u00a0to major cities<\/a> as parts of upstate New York already reported snowfall Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Syracuse, New York, is already seeing snowfall, while cities such as\u00a0Boston\u00a0and\u00a0Burlington, Vt., could all see a dusting of snow through Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This late-season clipper proves that the\u00a0harsh 2025-2026 winter\u00a0isn\u2019t over just yet.<\/p>\n

From record-shattering totals to feet of snow that\u00a0paralyzed\u00a0the region<\/a>, the relentless season has buried parts of the Northeast under repeated rounds of snowfall \u2014 some measuring in feet \u2014\u00a0leaving records shattered\u00a0and communities digging out for days.<\/p>\n

It has been a historic\u00a0winter\u00a0for many; spanning cross-country storms and powerful\u00a0blizzards,\u00a0winter\u2019s\u00a0grip has held the Northeast tight throughout the season.<\/p>\n

That said, light snow showers and below-average\u00a0temperatures\u00a0are expected to persist from the\u00a0Great Lakes\u00a0to New England from Monday through Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0FOX Forecast Center\u00a0said the wake of the cold front is triggering cooler air to return to the region as well as the\u00a0Mid-Atlantic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile not unusually cold for this time of year, Monday\u2019s temperatures will fall closer to seasonal averages with highs in the 40s and 50s,\u201d they noted.<\/p>\n

With that, an area of low pressure is pushing into the Great Lakes, drawing in just enough moisture to fuel light snow.<\/p>\n

While overall totals are expected to remain light, 1 to 3 inches of snow is possible, with slightly higher amounts near the Great Lakes and the higher terrain of the\u00a0Adirondacks.<\/p>\n

Cities in the path of the snow include\u00a0Buffalo;\u00a0Syracuse, 1 to 3 inches;\u00a0Burlington, around 1 inch;\u00a0Albany; and a few flakes possible in Boston and\u00a0New York City.<\/p>\n

The FOX Forecast Center highlights that most of these areas typically see their last measurable snow by early-mid April.<\/p>\n

New York City is forecasted to have a wind chill temperature of 26 degrees on Wednesday morning. FOX Weather<\/p>\n

Although the late-season snow is noteworthy, the approaching surge of cold air will affect a wider area.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Just days after near-record warmth, temperatures are expected to drop 10 to 20 degrees below average from Monday through Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Wednesday is likely to be the coldest day, with wind chills remaining in the 20s across interior parts of the Northeast.<\/p>\n
