The king and queen of the Netherlands will be visiting Philadelphia next week, with many stops planned across the city.<\/p>\n
According to a release, King Willem-Alexander and Queen M\u00e1xima will be in Philadelphia on Monday, April 13. Their visit is part of a working visit to the United States that also includes Washington, DC, and Miami, Florida.<\/p>\n
The king and queen are expected to have a day full of activities during their visit in Philly.<\/p>\n
They will first be welcomed by Gov. Josh Shapiro and First Lady Lori Shapiro. After that, the royal guests will be given a tour of Independence Hall, which will highlight America’s 250th anniversary of independence and the Netherlands’ role in the American Revolution.<\/p>\n
After that, the king and queen will attend a roundtable for CEOs, where they are expected to speak with representatives of the business community about trade opportunities and the Netherlands\u2019 economic relationship with Pennsylvania, especially in the areas of agriculture and horticulture, biomedical and health sciences, and high tech.<\/p>\n
In the afternoon, the royal couple will be visiting Fishtown. During their visit, they will go to the Kensington Creative & Performing Arts High School where they will be joined by Mayor Cherelle Parker.<\/p>\n
The royal couple’s tour in Philly will end at the home of the Philadelphia Eagles, where they are expected to tour the training facility. They will talk with staff and athletes and hear about examples of sport-related innovation. <\/p>\n
Their time in Philadelphia will end with an an economic session where businesspeople will present innovative products in the sport sector and where attention will be paid to Cura\u00e7ao’s participation in the 2026 World Cup at Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles\u2019 home stadium.<\/p>\n
The royal couple will then head to DC, where they will spend the evening and join President Donald Trump for dinner.<\/p>\n
