The RogueOlympics are an annual competition hosted by RogueBricks<\/a> that challenges builders to make creations using a maximum of 101 elements based on a weekly theme. You can catch up with our coverage of Round 1 (\u201cFragile\u201d)<\/a>, Round 2 (\u201cBlue\u201d)<\/a>, and Round 3 (\u201cFrom Above\u201d)<\/a>.\u00a0 Round 4\u2019s theme was \u201cDraft,\u201d a word with so many meanings, as seen in the incredible builds contributed this week from the \u201cdraft\u201d kings and queens of the AFOL world!<\/p>\n

Sympatik Brick<\/a> celebrates the spirit of creative possibility with the colorful avatar of putting ideas to paper \u2013 Scribbly! The bold colors are full of joy, and there are some fun elements in the mix, like the green army man stand in the foot.<\/p>\n

ozz.brix<\/a> celebrates the sketch while forgoing color altogether with a tribute to M. C. Escher. Shared on Easter, rabbits feature in the tesselations. The notebook and pens are LEGO products, but I\u2019m pretty sure Ozz\u2019s hand is not.<\/p>\n

Nathan Don<\/a> uses \u201cdraft\u201d in the sense of a freshly pulled beer as filtered through the builder\u2019s boundless whimsy. This mobile steam-punk brewery can deliver cold ones\u00a0 on a hot day. The build also fits the \u201cMarchikoma\u201d theme as shape is a fun spin on the Think Tank design.<\/p>\n

Beta Brick<\/a> assembles some tools of the draftsmans\u2019s trade with an assist from the Ninjago armory.<\/p>\n

ABrickDreamer<\/a> drafts up a fleet of adorable tiny constructiuon vehicles. Throughout this competition, I\u2019ve been so impressed by Davide\u2019s knack for making builds that seem far grander than the 101 piece limit would suggest.<\/p>\n

As a daily NYTimes crossword completist, I\u2019m pretty good at wordlplay in English, but how this moc from Jule<\/a> connects to \u201cdraft\u201d baffled me. Turns out it requires some advanced German language skills to decode:<\/p>\n

In German, the final line uses the word \u201cEntwurf\u201d, which normally means \u201cdraft\u201d or \u201cdesign.\u201d However, it\u2019s a pun: the word can be split into \u201cEnt\u201d (an old or poetic word for \u201cduck,\u201d related to Ente) and \u201cWurf\u201d (\u201cthrow\u201d). So it humorously suggests both \u201cthe best design\u201d and \u201cthe best duck throw.\u201d In other words, the contest is about literally throwing ducks through hoops\u2014so the \u201cbest Ent-wurf\u201d is the throw that sends a duck cleanly through all three rings.<\/p>\n

Jamie (flatlandbrick)<\/a> returns to the nature theme, interpreting evolution as the ultimate force of design, with the Nautilus shell exemplifying the golden ratio. This prehistoric version is an early draft of nature\u2019s perfection.<\/p>\n

Is it feeling drafty in here? No, it\u2019s just this build from Carson Lacy<\/a> of a broken window, beautifully photographed.<\/p>\n
