{"id":187583,"date":"2026-04-06T20:47:33","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T20:47:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/187583\/"},"modified":"2026-04-06T20:47:33","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T20:47:33","slug":"2026-queens-tech-innovation-challenge-finalists-announced-qns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/187583\/","title":{"rendered":"2026 Queens Tech + Innovation Challenge finalists announced \u2013 QNS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<img width=\"1200\" height=\"819\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/PR.07.Finalists.Pic2_.jpeg\" class=\"crop-center wp-post-image\" alt=\"finalists\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/>\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Queens Tech + Innovation Challenge Finalists with QEDC Deputy Executive Director Sarah Liu (left) and Director Ben Guttmann (right).<\/p>\n<p>Photo by Victor Prado<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queensny.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Queens Economic Development Corporation<\/a> held a special ceremony where they announced the 15 finalists for the 2026 Queens Tech + Innovation Challenge on Tuesday, March 31, at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flushingtownhall.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Flushing Town Hall<\/a>, located at 137-35 Northern Blvd. in <a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/neighborhoods\/flushing\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Flushing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The 15 finalists were selected from a group of 350 people enrolled in the Queens Tech + Innovation Challenge this year. This five-month program, offered via a partnership with Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, provides several dozen borough-based contestants with technical assistance, business training and face-to-face consultations, while also attending monthly networking events.<\/p>\n<p>Participants then had the opportunity to submit their own applications to a panel of judges after they have attended four events and received training. Three finalists were then chosen by the judges for each of the five categories: Community, Consumer Tech, Enterprise Tech, Food and Sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>Each finalist will submit a \u201cFinal Pitch\u201d activity related to their submissions on Tuesday, April 28, at the New York Hall of Science, with the panel of judges, comprised of local entrepreneurship and industry experts, selecting a winner for each of the five categories. The winners will receive grants valued up to $20,000 to help them grow their businesses. The grants are provided by <a href=\"https:\/\/rwnewyork.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Resorts World New York City<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Community finalists include Anna Savittieri and the <a href=\"https:\/\/sunnysideliteracylab.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Sunnyside Literacy Lab<\/a>, Queens Village resident Magdala Noel and the bilingual pediatric <a href=\"https:\/\/handinhandspeechtherapy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Hand in Hand Speech Therapy LLC<\/a> and Michael Cruz and Leigh Lotock, who have the <a href=\"https:\/\/astoriafarmersmarket.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Astoria Farmers Market<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Finalists in Consumer Tech are Ahad Ali of Forest Hills and the AI-powered bookkeeping company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usetabby.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Tabby<\/a>, Erich Molina of Richmond Hill and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmpoapp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Cmpo<\/a>, an app that helps organize adult recreational leagues, and Yaroslav Kharkov of Long Island City and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotlink.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">SpotLink LLC<\/a>, an app for navigating parking regulations.<\/p>\n<p>The Enterprise Tech finalists include Rohan Ramnarain and Kevin Guillermo of Oakland Gardens, who have the pay-by-bank checkout service for independent pharmacies <a href=\"https:\/\/pharmachute.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Pharmachute<\/a>, Kew Gardens resident Echo Wu and the AI system for engineering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thundergraph.ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">ThunderGraph<\/a> and Daniel Khalighinejad and Hesam Shams of Long Island City, who have the real estate feasibility platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dwellci.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Dwellci AI<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the Food category, the selected finalists are Woodside resident Laura Dadap and the Filipino hot sauce <a href=\"https:\/\/djablosauce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Djablo<\/a>, Thau Bui, also from Woodside, and <a href=\"https:\/\/getvanvan.com\/?srsltid=AfmBOoprIsRur5Nn6G7pmgYh1FpB7y-eWgauJu-0PHH94rDxEgdvCFTd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">V\u00e2n V\u00e2n<\/a>, a Vietnamese ingredients provider, and Rathan Yogi of Long Island City and fruit-and-nut purveyor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesivarosnacks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Sivaro Snacks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The finalists for the last category, Sustainability, are Kelly Tigera of Long Island City and <a href=\"https:\/\/orbitexchange.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Orbit Exchange LLC<\/a>, a marketplace for reclaimed construction materials, Veena Jayadeva of Jackson Heights and the Southeast Asian clothing rental company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kareenascloset.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Kareena\u2019s Closet<\/a> and Dan Connors of Whitestone and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainablebuildingsllc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Sustainable Buildings Data, LLC<\/a>, a green technology platform.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/?attachment_id=605682\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-605682 nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-605682\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/PR.07.Finalists.Pic1_.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"769\"  \/><\/a>Photo by Victor Prado<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongratulations to this year\u2019s finalists and best of luck as you pursue your entrepreneurial business dreams,\u201d Queens Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Ben Guttmann said. \u201cI\u2019d like to remind those who didn\u2019t advance that they can try again next year.
