Multiple activists were arrested for occupying the lobby of the Palantir building in the West Village after a protest in which Mayor Mamdani stood with hundreds of Jewish New Yorkers on the sixth night of Passover to protest the federal immigration crackdown.<\/p>\n

Mamdani joined more than 500 activists at Union Square for \u201cSedar in the Streets,\u201d a protest in which demonstrators recite prayers, sing songs and rally against corporate collusion with the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for showing us what it looks like, showing us what it means to live out the lessons of Passover,\u201d Mamdani said. \u201cLessons of hope overcoming fear, of solidarity being able to overcome isolation, and the knowledge that at the end of the story, freedom is attained, and with it the sweetness of liberation.\u201d<\/p>\n

After rallying at the park, the protestors headed to Palantir<\/a>\u2018s offices, located about a half mile west, at 45 W. 18th St. near Sixth Ave., where they joined another demonstration in which more than two dozen activists occupied the building\u2019s lobby as hundreds more waited outside.<\/p>\n

Police took multiple protestors into custody after orders to vacate the building were ignored, according to an NYPD spokesman.
