His firm, David Gersten &amp; Associates, served a wide range of clients since 2000.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"428\" data-end=\"929\">Gersten worked with legendary producers Alexander H. Cohen and David Merrick and contributed to numerous Broadway productions, including Waiting in the Wings, The Herbal Bed, Taking Sides, and special events like the 6,000th performance of A Chorus Line. Off-Broadway, he publicized hundreds of productions, including long-running hits like Altar Boyz, Late Nite Catechism, and Tony n\u2019 Tina\u2019s Wedding, alongside premieres, revivals, and solo performances featuring leading stage artists.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"931\" data-end=\"1306\">A dedicated advocate for nonprofit theater, he represented companies such as Ensemble Studio Theatre, Mint Theater, NAATCO, and Red Bull Theater, working with an extraordinary roster of performers. He also consulted for organizations including The Actors Studio and the Lucille Lortel Foundation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"931\" data-end=\"1306\">A founding member Manhattan Association of Clubs &amp; Cabarets, some of the many clubs and cabarets represented include Windows on the World (launching its reopening after the 1993 bombing until its tragic end on September 11), Rainbow &amp; Stars and the Rainbow Room, Michael\u2019s Pub (over twenty years), Caf\u00e9 Carlyle &amp; Bemelmans Bar, the Oak Room at the Algonquin, The Ballroom, Freddy\u2019s, and Roseland.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"931\" data-end=\"1306\">He worked with Mel Torm\u00e9 (16 years), Rosemary Clooney (12 years), Peggy Lee, Sid Caesar &amp; Imogene Coca (The 40th Anniversary of \u201cYour Show of Shows\u201d), Kaye Ballard, among many others.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1308\" data-end=\"1619\">As a producer, his credits included Tea at Five, Shear Madness, and Marry Me a Little, along with involvement in Broadway productions such as Kinky Boots, The Addams Family, and It\u2019s Only a Play. He was a founding member of the Off-Broadway Alliance and a longtime member of the Off-Broadway League.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1621\" data-end=\"1903\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">A native New Yorker, Gersten was also a volunteer firefighter on Fire Island and recently became an owner of the Ninth Avenue Saloon. Donations in his memory may be made to organizations he supported, including Broadway Cares\/Equity Fights AIDS and the Entertainment Community Fund.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1621\" data-end=\"1903\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">On a personal note, Gersten was a deeply valued colleague, unfailingly gracious, generous in spirit, and an all-around-pleasure to work alongside.
