BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) \u2014 A police officer is in recovery after being hit by a car in Brooklyn on Saturday evening, according to the NYPD.<\/p>\n

The incident happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Wallabout Street and Broadway.<\/p>\n

Officials say uniformed officers were conducting a traffic stop of a white 2018 Q50S Infiniti. When the officers approached, the driver accelerated, hitting two police vehicles.<\/p>\n

Officials say the driver then reversed and hit an officer before fleeing south on Wallabout Street.<\/p>\n

The officer sustained injuries to the leg and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.<\/p>\n
