Those hoping to catch\u00a0Tom Felton<\/a>\u2014who
\nplayed Harry Potter\u2019s arch-nemesis Draco Malfoy in all eight Harry Potter films\u2014in Broadway’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child<\/a>\u00a0will have a few more months to do so.<\/p>\n

Felton, who is reprising\u00a0his role as Malfoy for Broadway audiences, returned to
\n the part for the first time in nearly 15 years November 11, 2025,\u00a0at the Lyric Theatre. Originally scheduled<\/a> for a limited 19-week
\nengagement through March 22, 2026, the actor originally extended his engagement through May 10. Felton will now continue through November 1. (Felton is not scheduled to appear at performances May 11\u201331, August 17\u201323, September 14\u201320, and October 12\u201318.)<\/p>\n

Felton, who\u00a0is making his Broadway debut, is the first actor from the original Harry Potter film to join the stage production, which takes place 19 years after the end of the original series.<\/p>\n

Since Felton’s arrival\u00a0Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has
\n consistently held the No. 1\u00a0spot on the Broadway grosses. It\u2019s the highest-grossing production in the history of the Lyric Theatre, setting the
\nbox-office record at $3.7 million\u00a0for the nine-performance week ending December 28,
\n 2025.<\/p>\n

The current cast is led by John Skelley<\/a> as Harry Potter and Trish Lindstrom<\/a> as Ginny Potter with Emmet Smith<\/a> as their son Albus Potter. Rachel Christopher and Daniel Fredrick<\/a> play Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively, with Janae Hammond<\/a> as their daughter Rose Granger-Weasley.\u00a0Felton\u00a0plays Draco Malfoy with Aidan Close<\/a> as his son Scorpius Malfoy. Kristen Martin<\/a> plays Delphi Diggory.<\/p>\n

\n to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest
\nfan community in the world. I look forward to joining this incredible

Producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender<\/a> added, \u201cTom Felton\u2019s
\nperformance as a young Draco Malfoy on screen left an indelible
\nimpression on Harry Potter
\n fans around the world. His role as Draco undeniably shaped one of the
\ncanon\u2019s most nuanced characters. More than just a foil to Harry,
\n Draco was a portrait of parental pressure, internal conflict, and
\nreluctant vulnerability. Over the years, this character arc has become a
\n symbol of how people can grow beyond the choices one was raised to
\nmake.<\/p>\n

“As fans of the wizarding world ourselves, we feel incredibly fortunate to welcome Tom into our Cursed Child family on Broadway and to offer Harry Potter
\n fans around the globe the once-in-a-lifetime excitement of seeing him

Felton\u2019s recent work includes the films They Will Kill You and Fackham Hall. He
\n made his West End debut in 2022, starring in the lead role of Sam in 2:22 A Ghost Story, and in 2024 played the lead role of Bob Edwards in Gareth Farr\u2019s play A Child of Science at Bristol Old Vic. Among his other film roles are Rise of the Planet of the Apes, A United Kingdom, In Secret, Feed, Risen, The Forgotten Battle, Save the Cinema, and Some Other Woman.<\/p>\n

Following a world premiere in London in July 2016, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opened on Broadway as a two-part experience April 22, 2018. The
\nproduction would go on to be nominated for 10 Tony Awards, winning five,
\n including Best Play. <\/p>\n

The condensed, one-part production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opened December 7, 2021, at the Lyric Theatre following the COVID-19 pandemic. A new, shorter iteration was implemented on Broadway in November 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Based on a new story by J.K. Rowling<\/a>, Jack Thorne<\/a>, and John Tiffany<\/a>, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a play by Thorne, directed by Tiffany.<\/p>\n

The production also features movement by Steven Hoggett<\/a>, set by
\nChristine Jones<\/a>, costumes by Katrina Lindsay<\/a>, music and arrangements by
\nImogen Heap<\/a>, lighting by Neil Austin<\/a>, sound by Gareth Fry<\/a>, illusions and
\n magic by Jamie Harrison<\/a>, and music supervision and arrangements by
\nMartin Lowe<\/a>. U.S. casting is by Jim Carnahan<\/a>.<\/p>\n
