NEW YORK (PIX11) \u2014 A man was found dead in the stairwell of a NYCHA building in Lower Manhattan on Monday, police said.<\/p>\n
Officers found the unidentified man with bruising on his forehead in the 4th-floor stairwell at the Lillian Wald Houses on East 6th Street at around 6:05 a.m., according to the NYPD and sources.<\/p>\n

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.<\/p>\n It was unclear if the man was a victim of a crime.
