You ask\u00a0anyone\u00a0what their biggest gripe is about New York State, and there’s an 85% chance they tell you: “The Potholes”.<\/p>\n

Some roads in New York are almost traversable because of them, but the state is finally taking initiative and ALLEGEDLY filling every one they can find…<\/p>\n

\"QWorst Year for Potholes<\/p>\n

All Winter long, I’ve heard people say: “This is the worst winter we’ve had in\u00a0years”. This isn’t just about the snow or the cold either, the weather\u00a0hammered\u00a0us this year, and as such, messed up our roads quite a bit.<\/p>\n

It’s being said that this is the worst year for potholes in New York since Covid. Local repair shops have been getting four to five pothole-related calls per\u00a0week<\/a>. It’s obvious this can’t go on for much longer, new potholes are popping up every day, and existing ones are only getting worse. There’s only one path forward…<\/p>\n

Fixing Potholes<\/p>\n

In early April, State Governor Kathy Hochul<\/a> announced a new project to fix roads across the state of New York. Through the month of April, 215 road crews will traverse the state, placing\u00a08,000 tons of asphalt to fill around 175,000 potholes. If the weather permits in the coming months, hundreds of thousands more will be filled.<\/p>\n

Obviously, this is a dream come true if it’s taken care of, but we’ve seen promises like this before. Heck, when I was working for our sister station in Arizona, I probably wrote three or four articles exactly like this and it\u00a0NEVER. HAPPENED.<\/p>\n
