{"id":189065,"date":"2026-04-08T01:24:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-08T01:24:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/189065\/"},"modified":"2026-04-08T01:24:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T01:24:13","slug":"walk-of-love-fun-run-for-childrens-charity-returns-this-month-the-long-island-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/189065\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Walk of Love\u2019 fun run for children\u2019s charity returns this month \u2013 The Long Island Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro (RMHCNYM), the Long Island Ronald McDonald House chapter, will host its \u201cWalk of Love\u201d 5K and fun run on Saturday, April 25 from 8 a.m. to noon.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be starting and finishing at the Ronald McDonald House at 267-07 76th Ave. in New Hyde Park.<\/p>\n<p>More than 60 teams have signed on to participate in 2026 so far, including Team Jack Pack, which raised over $13,000 last year in honor of their son, who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in January 2025. The fundraisers also include Victoria Raabe, whose family has supported Ronald McDonald House for over 30 years since staying here when Raabe was a young child.<\/p>\n<p>Considered the charity\u2019s largest community event of the year, the Walk of Love 5K raises funds for sick children and families across Long Island and the greater New York Metro region served by the Ronald McDonald House. The organization supports over 12,000 families a year going through a pediatric medical crisis, nationwide.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A finish line celebration featuring entertainment and BBQ lunch will follow the walk\/run.<\/p>\n<p>Registration for the event is $40 per participant.
