Police from the 115th Precinct<\/a> in Jackson Heights<\/a> made a grisly discovery beneath the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway on Tuesday morning after responding to a 911 call of a person in need of medical attention, just after 11 a.m. <\/p>\n

Officers on April 7 found the badly decomposing skeletal remains of a human in a Department of Transportation storage area near Exit 41 on the BQE on Northern Boulevard along the Woodside and Jackson Heights border. It is unclear if a DOT worker discovered the remains. <\/p>\n

An NYPD spokesperson said the tip came from a third-party caller.\n<\/p>\n

The gender of the deceased and cause of death will be determined by the city\u2019s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.\n<\/p>\n

There is no indication how long the remains were in the DOT storage area.\n<\/p>\n
