Photo by Jewel Webber<\/p>\n<p>The nutrition fair featured a food distribution, on-site healthy cooking demonstrations from renowned chefs, health and nutrition workshops and community resource tabling.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-142520\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Image00191.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"  \/>Community members received fresh produce and more. Photo by Jewel Webber<\/p>\n<p>This event, held during National Nutrition Month, highlighted how food and beverage choices can fuel one\u2019s day, impact their health and help neighborhoods thrive.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-142522\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Image00287.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"  \/>BCA Global provided food demonstrations. Photo by Jewel Webber<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur work in New York is grounded in partnership and supporting community-led solutions that improve outcomes for families and individuals facing some of the most persistent health challenges,\u201d said Dr. Christy Valentine Theard, president and CEO of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield\u2019s New York Medicaid plan. \u201cBy investing across maternal and infant health, food as medicine, behavioral health and community resiliency, we help drive measurable progress and stronger, healthier communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among those in attendance for the nutrition fair were New York State Assemblymember Em\u00e9rita Torres and New York City Council Member Justin Sanchez. Photo by Jewel Webber<\/p>\n<p>The community resource tables at the nutrition fair included representatives from <a href=\"https:\/\/oasas.ny.gov\/location\/parc-recovery-center-samaritan-daytop-village-inc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">PARC Bronx\/Samaritan Village<\/a>, the New York City Department of Transportation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/content\/visionzero\/pages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Vision Zero<\/a> initiative, the <a href=\"https:\/\/nyc.gov\/health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">New York City Department of Health<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huntspoint.org\/community-partnership\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Hunts Point Community Partnership<\/a>, Black Health\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spreadinglovefoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Spreading Love<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/bronxriver.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Bronx River Alliance<\/a> and many more.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-142521\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Image00227.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"  \/>Move to Motivate, LLC Founder and CEO Dr. Dominique Rowe leading a workout with attendees.
