Sarah Ferguson\u2018s attempt at a heartfelt tribute to her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, didn\u2019t land as she intended \u2014 at least not with Prince William, a new report has claimed.<\/p>\n

In May 2025, the former Duchess of York spoke about the monarch\u2019s beloved corgis, Muick and Sandy, while appearing on stage at the Creative Woman Platform Forum in London.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have her dogs. I have her corgis, so every morning they come in and go, \u2018Woof, woof,\u2019 and all that and I\u2019m sure it\u2019s her talking to me,\u201d Ferguson shared.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe real thing is that I had the greatest honor to be her daughter-in-law. You know, that\u2019s really huge,\u201d she added. \u201cWhen I was driving here, I saw the Elizabeth [train] line. \u2026 I want everyone to remember what an amazing lady she was.\u201d<\/p>\n

But instead of finding the anecdote touching, the Prince of Wales was allegedly left incensed. He was \u201capparently \u2018furious\u2019 that she used this anecdote,\u201d royal expert Emily Andrews wrote in Woman magazine, as reported by Britain\u2019s Daily Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As the outlet pointed out, news of William\u2019s alleged frustration comes at a time when scrutiny around the heir to the throne is intensifying, with growing public interest in what kind of monarch he will eventually become when he succeeds his father, King Charles III.<\/p>\n

Speaking to journalist Rob Shuter, who writes the Naughty But Nice<\/a> column on Substack, a source described William as a leader focused less on emotion and more on long-term strategy.<\/p>\n

\u201cWilliam is not afraid to make hard calls. And right now, that\u2019s exactly what the royal family needs. Charles leads with his heart. William leads with strategy,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s not big on second chances, the source added \u2014 a likely reference to Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson\u2019s recent fall from grace following the release of troubling new information about their ties to predator Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe doesn\u2019t forget, and he doesn\u2019t forgive easily,\u201d the source said of William. \u201cIf you cross the line, that\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams recently praised William to Daily Mail<\/a> for having a \u201cruthless streak,\u201d something Shuter\u2019s source sees as a strength, not a weakness.<\/p>\n

After the queen\u2019s death, the pets moved in with the former Duke and Duchess of York at Royal Lodge. The arrangement made sense, as Andrew had originally gifted the dogs to his mother in 2021.<\/p>\n

After the former couple was forced out of Royal Lodge in early 2026 by Charles \u2014 reportedly at William\u2019s urging \u2014 Andrew relocated to a smaller residence on the king\u2019s privately owned Sandringham estate, where the corgis appear to now reside with him.
