Queen Elizabeth<\/a> was praised by her former dresser and self-described \u201cbest friend\u201d Angela Kelly, who said she was a very \u201ccool granny\u201d. <\/a>The late Queen\u2019s senior aide<\/a> worked with her for nearly 30 years<\/a>, from 1994 until the Queen’s death in 2022, and has previously spoken about her relationship with the monarch.<\/p>\n Now, just a few days before what would have been Elizabeth’s 100th birthday, Ms Kelly gave a new interview about her beloved employer. The 68-year-old said Elizabeth was her \u201cbest friend\u201d and revealed that she misses her every day.<\/p>\n After the late Queen\u2019s death, she was asked to vacate her Grade II-listed cottage in Windsor.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Meghan Markle\u2019s co-star shares update after Duchess’s rare move over complaint <\/a><\/p>\n READ MORE: Prince Harry ‘given ultimatum by the Royal Family’ <\/a><\/p>\n Angela Kelly worked for the late Queen for nearly 30 years (Image: Getty)<\/p>\n The late Queen with Anna Wintour and Angela Kelly (Image: Getty)<\/p>\n But King Charles kept the promise he made to his mother of lifelong accommodation for Ms Kelly and purchased a modest three-bedroom bungalow for the ex-royal employee in the North, close to her family.<\/p>\n Speaking about the Easter and summer holidays in Windsor and Balmoral, Ms Kelly revealed the sweet move she would make for her great-grandchildren, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.<\/p>\n Ms Kelly told Vanity Fair<\/a>: \u201cThe family would visit and she loved being granny. Her Majesty took her great-grandchildren out riding or walking.<\/p>\n \u201cShe did barbecues and fun things and she always washed the dishes, even when she was entertaining the Prime Minister.\u201d<\/p>\n She added: \u201cIt was just a normal loving family, to be quite honest. If the Duke, or whoever was cooking, burned the burgers, she\u2019d just laugh.<\/p>\n \u201cAs long as they had extra to put back on, and as long as all the family were fed and watered that was all right. The queen was just full of energy and a really cool granny, to be honest.\u201d<\/p>\n Elizabeth had 12 great-grandchildren upon her death but 14 in total.<\/p>\n The most recent royal additions include Princess Beatrice<\/a>\u2019s daughter, Athena, born in 2025 and Princess Eugenie<\/a>\u2019s son, Ernest, born in 2023.<\/p>\n Ms Kelly, originally from Liverpool, formed a close relationship with the late Queen as her \u201cright-hand woman\u201d over the years.
