Instead, Lee and her client treated it like a rewrite: revisiting every surface, refinishing where needed, and reworking key areas to better align with the homeowner\u2019s day-to-day life.<\/p>\n

A Pinch London<\/a> sofa in Pierre Frey<\/a> fabric anchors the living room, paired with a vintage wingback chair from Finch Hudson<\/a> and a vintage rosewood and marble coffee table by Ib Kofod-Larsen. Above the fireplace hangs Nancy Friedemann-S\u00e1nchez\u2019s Cornucopia with Pineapples, which was original to the house. Dala horses from Nusn\u00e4s line the mantle.<\/p>\n \u201cI knew that I wanted each room to have a very specific feel and its own identity,\u201d explains the client, who spends long hours writing scripts and migrates throughout the house during the day. Lee\u2019s task was to express those distinct identities without turning the house into a patchwork of competing ideas.<\/p>\n 1960s oak chairs attributed to Henning Kj\u00e6rnulf, upholstered in Namay Samay<\/a> fabric, surround a French Provincial fruitwood dining table. An Austrian brass chandelier from the 1950s hangs above, while Swedish pine sconces with pleated shades, via 1stDibs<\/a>, line the walls. The antique European rug is from Woven<\/a>.<\/p>\n The solution was to establish a through line in the staircase and hallways, where House of Hackney florals wrap walls and a pale teal paint covers stair treads, and dark runner with red botanical accents grounds the space. The combination sets a bold, eclectic tone\u2014one that nods to the British countryside, with hints of Art Deco<\/a> and vintage Nordic style.
