A 32-year-old male motorcycle driver is dead after crashing<\/a> into an MTA bus in the Bronx on Wednesday evening, the NYPD announced on Thursday.<\/p>\n Cops said they responded to a 5:14 p.m. April 8 911 call reporting the incident on West Mosholu Parkway South, near where it intersects with Jerome Avenue, within the NYPD\u2019s 52nd Precinct. The location is by the elevated Mosholu Pkwy 4 train station.<\/p>\n According to police, the Zhilong motorcycle driver \u2014 identified as 32-year-old Andy Peralta \u2014 made a left turn onto West Mosholu Parkway South after traveling northbound on Jerome Avenue. Published reports indicate Peralta was a delivery driver on his way home<\/a>.<\/p>\n Once Peralta turned, he drove west against traffic while an MTA bus, operated by a 30-year-old female driver, was traveling east on the same road. He then collided with the bus\u2019 front driver-side corner and was flung from his bike.<\/p>\n Peralta suffered severe head trauma, cops said. Emergency services personnel then rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.\n<\/p>\n None of the 20 passengers aboard the bus reported injuries, according to police. The driver remained at the scene.\n<\/p>\n Police have yet to make an arrest and the NYPD\u2019s Highway District Collision Investigation Squad continues to investigate.\n<\/p>\n When reached for comment MTA spokespeople referred amNewYork to the NYPD.\n<\/p>\n
