“James Bond<\/a>” actor Daniel Craig and his wife, Rachel Weisz<\/a>, have quietly sold their longtime Brooklyn<\/a> townhouse for $11.8 million\u2014nearly a decade after they snapped up the historical abode for just over half that price.<\/p>\n

Craig, 58, and Weisz, 56, who tied the knot in 2011, purchased their elegant townhome for $6.75 million in August 2017, not long after it had been damaged in a New Year’s Eve fire that caused significant damage to the top floor. <\/p>\n

When the couple bought the New York<\/a> home, it had undergone an extensive renovation\u2014including the addition of a new roof\u2014which had left much of the property gutted. The listing at the time described it as a “clean, blank space” that was just waiting for an owner to put their own spin on it.<\/p>\n

“A purchaser has the option of retaining a huge amount of custom millwork: closets, bookcases, kitchen cabinetry, bathroom cabinets, marble counters, and high end appliances,” the listing said.<\/p>\n

“The massive west-facing backyard is graced by a magnificent Mulberry tree the kind that tree house dreams are made of!” <\/p>\n

Weisz and Craig are understood to have carried out an extensive overhaul of the entire five-story abode, turning it into a luxury retreat, complete with an elevator, a roof deck, and a large patio and garden.<\/p>\n

However, in late 2025, Craig and Weisz are said to have started quietly shopping the six-bedroom home around, according to The Real Deal<\/a>. Sources told the outlet that the couple’s abode went into contract at the end of the year, “after a quiet marketing process” that was managed by Compass agent Pamela D’Arc.<\/p>\n

Indeed, records indicate that the townhouse was not publicly listed and appears to have sold off-market, in a deal that closed recently.<\/p>\n

The sale of the home comes just one year after Craig and Weisz sold an adjacent townhouse for $4.05 million. This deal also flew very much under the radar\u2014raising questions about whether the A-list couple have quit Brooklyn, or at least their Cobble Hill neighborhood, for good.<\/p>\n

It may well be that the duo have decided to relocate to one of their other impressive properties, which include a home in London and a countryside retreat in upstate New York<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Located in Ulster County, the New York property was purchased by Weisz for $2.1 million in 2008, when it was described as offering three bedrooms, four bathrooms, and close to 124 acres of land\u2014ideal for the A-list couple, who are known to be fiercely guarded about their private life. <\/p>\n

The property was originally built in 1785, but it appears to have undergone significant renovations since it last changed hands.<\/p>\n

Records show that Weisz, who shares one child, daughter Grace, with Craig, and also has a son, Henry, from a previous relationship with filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, purchased the property through an LLC to which it is still registered.<\/p>\n

As for their U.K. dwelling, the British actors are said to use the property as their primary residence, having moved into the home together not long after they wed in 2011. <\/p>\n

Located in the upscale neighborhood of Primrose Hill, where the likes of Harry Styles, Rita Ora, and Kate Moss have all owned homes, the property was purchased by Craig several years before he and Weisz started dating.<\/p>\n

It was reported in 2024 that the couple were planning to make some extensive updates to the dwelling, which was originally built in 1840. The Daily Mail<\/a> revealed that they had won a battle to begin renovations after neighbors objected to their plans.<\/p>\n

If the couple have chosen to sever ties with New York City, it will mark the first time in more than 15 years that one of them has not had a home base in the Big Apple.<\/p>\n

The couple previously lived in an East Village apartment that they sold in 2019. Realtor.com<\/p>\n

Before snapping up their Brooklyn residence, the duo owned an East Village apartment, which they purchased for $6 million in October 2012. Craig and Weisz owned the three-bedroom unit for close to seven years before listing it in May 2019 for $6.5 million. They accepted an offer of $6 million in August of that year.<\/p>\n

Six years later, one of their former neighbors in the building spoke out to praise the duo, posting in a TikTok video that she only had “nice things” to say about the celebrity couple.<\/p>\n

Ilana Wiles, a content creator who has earned close to 500,000 TikTok followers by sharing candid “day in the life of a\u00a0New York City<\/a>\u00a0mom” clips on the platform, revealed the identity of her famous former neighbors in a\u00a0video<\/a>\u00a0that was posted as part of the popular 2025 “holy airball” trend.<\/p>\n

The viral trend, which was inspired by a basketball-themed meme, sees TikTokers hitting back at common misconceptions about their life, family, or careers\u2014usually in a bid to reveal something impressive about their background.<\/p>\n

Videos posted as part of the trend typically begin with the content creator revealing a simple fact about themselves alongside a photo. In Wiles’ case, she wrote: “Told them my upstairs neighbor was a celebrity,” while posting an image of herself posing in her kitchen.<\/p>\n

That fact is then followed up with a stranger’s less-than-impressed response to that statement.<\/p>\n

“So like, one of the Housewives?” Wiles wrote in her video\u2014joking that people always assumed the star she was referring to was a member of the Bravo cast.<\/p>\n

Then, finally, the truth about the fact is revealed, with Wiles sharing that her neighbors were of a more high-brow Hollywood class, sharing an image of Craig and Weisz with the hashtag #holyairball.<\/p>\n

In the caption of her clip, the TikTok star shared some further details about her living situation when she was neighbors with the A-list couple.<\/p>\n

“For the record, neither of us live there anymore but they were our upstairs neighbors for 10 years!” she wrote. “I only have nice things to say.”<\/p>\n
