Caris LeVert: It\u2019s been crazy. I mean, from the start of the season we had the top team and this team just believed. I think that was the most impressive part with me coming into this team: the belief they had from the jump. We believed we were this good, and for us to carry that out and do it night in and night out, despite injuries and guys being out, has been super impressive.<\/p>\n
Brandon \u201cScoop B\u201d Robinson: What makes this team different from other squads you\u2019ve been on in the past?<\/p>\n
Caris LeVert: I think defensively, when we want to lock in and we know we need to lock in, this team goes to a different level. And also, we\u2019re super close. This is probably the closest team I\u2019ve been on off the court. The guys just hanging out and kicking it and so I think that translates to the court as well.<\/p>\n
Brandon \u201cScoop B\u201d Robinson: What does the team like to do when you guys aren\u2019t playing?<\/p>\n
Caris LeVert: Chill, going to dinner, you know? We\u2019re like an AAU team. Obviously, we do a lot of things together so the stuff that we do off the court just translates like a family, you know? It\u2019s not always perfect and guys get into it sometimes but we all have a common goal and we have respect for each other to know what we\u2019re trying to do.<\/p>\n
Brandon \u201cScoop B\u201d Robinson: With Cade Cunningham back in the lineup and the postseason approaching, how vital is it to have him healthy and clicking for this playoff run?<\/p>\n
Caris LeVert: I mean, we\u2019re just focused on ourselves, man and honestly everybody knows how good Cade is. We know how special Cade is. We know how good we need him to be to get him where we want to go but, we\u2019re focused on ourselves each and every game and get the most out of this group and right now, we\u2019re building good habits to get to that point.<\/p>\n
Brandon \u201cScoop B\u201d Robinson: What\u2019s your take on some of the younger teams in the league, like the Atlanta Hawks?<\/p>\n
Caris LeVert: \u00a0I haven\u2019t watched them but we just played them. I haven\u2019t seen them but they beat Boston and they got a good thing going. Quinn [Snyder] is one of my favorite coaches. He does a great job offensively and defensively and they got a great staff there and so, they\u2019re definitely a team that\u2019s probably trying to get out of that Play-In Tournament and trying to get to that 6th seed so, they\u2019re doing their thing for sure.<\/p>\n
Brandon \u201cScoop B\u201d Robinson: Looking back at your time with the Brooklyn Nets, what are two moments that really stand out to you?<\/p>\n
Caris LeVert: I would probably have to say Draft Night for sure just because I had no idea that I was going there like, I REALLY had no idea. They had the 20th pick and I thought it was Indiana and they traded it the day before and I had no idea, so I would say that and probably my third year when I hit a game winner against the [Denver] Nuggets in Denver; that was really a cool moment for me as well.<\/p>\n
Brandon \u201cScoop B\u201d Robinson: Being a LeVert\u2014how much did seeing your relatives in the entertainment industry help show you how to be a professional?<\/p>\n
Caris LeVert: It\u2019s cool, man. It\u2019s definitely cool. Eddie [LeVert], shoutout to Eddie has been very supportive of my NBA career and obviously he\u2019s a superstar and he\u2019s done this thing for a long, long time now but he really supports me and gives positive words all the time so, shoutout to the whole family because they give out a lot of love for sure.<\/p>\n
