Jennifer Lopez<\/a> shared an emotional post about the enduring legacy of her 2002 hit movie Maid in Manhattan.<\/p>\n

The actress and singer<\/a>, 56, reminisced about her role as Marisa Ventura, a single mother who worked as a maid at a luxury hotel in New York City.<\/p>\n

“Twenty-something years later and I still think about Marisa,” the pop icon captioned an Instagram post <\/a>alongside stills, clips and behind-the-scenes shots from the beloved romantic comedy. “A single mom who moved through marble lobbies and thread-count sheets that weren’t hers… but carried herself like they could be.”<\/p>\n

The multi-hyphenate<\/a> also reflected on how much she cherished working with the cast of the film, which also starred Stanley Tucci, Tyler Posey, Ralph Fiennes, Amy Sedaris and the late Natasha Richardson.<\/p>\n

“What a movie. What a cast. What a time,” the “Waiting for Tonight” singer finished the post.<\/p>\n

Lopez, who was 32 when she filmed the movie, revealed it originally began as a script entitled The Chambermaid. She and producer Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas worked with director Wayne Wang to “dream up a girl with her nose pressed to the snow globe of Manhattan,” and the rest is history!<\/p>\n

Her role of Marisa Ventura landed Lopez a nomination for the 2003 Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture award at the Image Awards (NAACP).<\/p>\n

In January 2025, Fiennes, 63, and Lopez reunited at <\/a>Variety<\/a>‘s 10 Directors to Watch and Creative Impact Awards brunch in Palm Springs, California. <\/p>\n

The Harry Potter actor presented the Kiss of the Spider Woman<\/a> star with the evening’s Legend and Groundbreakers award.<\/p>\n
