Two teens were arrested in The Bronx on Wednesday, April 8, for subway surfing police said.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, April 8, at 7.37 p.m. using drones, police in The Bronx observed two youths dressed in dark clothing subway surfing on a 6 train, bound for Pelham Bay Park. \u201cOfficers from the Transit Drone Team and Transit District 12 conducted a subway surfing operation in The Bronx leading to the arrest of two teens,\u201d the NYPD later said.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

They added, \u201cSubway surfing is deadly. Don\u2019t risk it. When two teens tried it in the Bronx, our transit officers and drone team took action and safely stopped the train. This year, we have saved over 47 people, thanks to our coordination. Our message is clear: Ride inside. Stay alive.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NYPD previously launched public awareness campaigns, both visual and audio with the help of various celebrities in subway stations in efforts to deter youth from subway surfing, following a series of fatalities linked to such surfing.<\/p>\n
