You could make one subway-etiquette rule a law \u2014 what would it be? We start handing out headphones to people so that they don\u2019t have to listen on full blast.<\/p>\n

How would you get from Yankee Stadium to JFK Airport? Is it the 4\/5\/6 at Yankee Stadium? That\u2019s my bag. So I think you would take the 6 down to \u2014 oh no. How do you get to the blue line? How do you get to the A from the 6?<\/p>\n

Someone bumps into you on the subway \u2014 what do you do? I apologize or just keep my head down and keep it moving.<\/p>\n

Your train line is down and you\u2019re running late \u2014 what do you do? I get out and Citi Bike.<\/p>\n

Your cabdriver is taking you on a horrible route. Do you interrupt? Politely. I say, \u201cExcuse me, where the heck are you going?\u201d<\/p>\n

How often do you take public transportation to the airport? Let\u2019s say 50-50. When I\u2019m leaving New York, I\u2019ll take the train. When I\u2019m coming back, I usually take a car.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a blinking red light and you\u2019re about to cross \u2014 do you wait it out till it says \u201cwalk,\u201d or are you crossing? I hustle.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re in town for a long holiday weekend and know the city will empty out \u2014 where do you go? Probably the East Village. I\u2019m around Tompkins Square Park.<\/p>\n

You have family coming to town in 24 hours \u2014 what do you do with them on short notice? I take them to Oh, Mary!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the appropriate armrest etiquette? You either get one full one and leave the other to the person to your left, or you go one person in front, one person in back. I usually like to take the back.<\/p>\n

Would you rather transfer trains or walk farther? Walk farther.<\/p>\n

Someone says the rats are cute \u2014 what\u2019s your honest response? Live your life.<\/p>\n

Have you ever actually been to Staten Island? Yes. Once.<\/p>\n

Do you call Manhattan \u201cthe city\u201d or just Manhattan? The city.<\/p>\n

Bed bugs or roaches? Roaches. I don\u2019t get the hate.<\/p>\n

Roaches or rats? Roaches.<\/p>\n

Have you ever gotten a piece of furniture off the street? Yes. It was a chair. And it was haunted. Someone sat in the chair and said, \u201cThis chair is hot\u201d \u2014 you could just feel the vibe. So we had to get rid of it.<\/p>\n

Where do you go to cry? The last time I cried was in the Duane Reade in Penn Station. It was anonymous. It felt oddly private.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your go-to public bathroom? That\u2019s a secret. But I try to have one every five blocks or so.<\/p>\n

Do you have one you want to shout out? The eighth floor of the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.<\/p>\n

Best New York celebrity sighting? When Blake Griffin was playing for the Brooklyn Nets, we were alone on a side street and we nodded respectfully \u2014 as two elite athletes.<\/p>\n

What about NYC still makes no sense to you? The noise. I mean, it makes sense, but it\u2019s overwhelming.<\/p>\n

You know you\u2019re a New Yorker when \u2026 They know your order at the caf\u00e9 or the bodega before you have to say it.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the grossest bodega order? Melted cheese on a slice of Wonder Bread.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m old enough to remember when \u2026 There was a 7-Eleven on Delancey Street.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s a place that closed that you wish you could bring back? 7-Eleven on Delancey.<\/p>\n

Every New Yorker should do what at least once? Run the marathon \u2014 walk the marathon. I did it a few years ago and it was really, really beautiful.<\/p>\n

Sexiest New Yorker? Morgan Spector<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last time you ate a hot dog from a hot-dog stand? I was like 15, when I first came to New York.<\/p>\n

How much do you pay when you go to the Met? It\u2019s like 30 bucks.<\/p>\n

What percent did you tip your last Uber driver? 20 percent.<\/p>\n

Last time you hailed a yellow cab? Last night.<\/p>\n

How many times have you moved in New York? Countless. I\u2019d say upwards of 20, 25 times.<\/p>\n

What do you do if the person next to you is behaving badly (eating loud candy, taking their phone out, singing along, talking, coughing nonstop)? I\u2019ll give some side-eye. Or if it continues, a patient but firm look.<\/p>\n
