MONROE COUNTY, N.Y. \u2014 On Friday, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance announced the arrest of a man from Monroe County which happened on Tuesday, who received 18 felony charges for income tax fraud.<\/p>\n
Daniel Solivan-Feliciano of Monroe County, reportedly attempted to fraud the state tax department of over $7 million in refunds when he filed false tax returns in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Tax department investigators found out that Solivan-Feliciano falsely claimed income that he didn\u2019t earn and claimed unreasonably high business losses.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet this serve as a clear warning to any taxpayers considering lining their own pockets at the expense of honest New Yorkers,\u201d said New York State Department of Taxation and Finance Acting Commissioner Amanda Hiller. \u201cTax fraud is not a victimless crime. It deprives New Yorkers of funds they have paid for valuable services.\u201d<\/p>\n
He was charged with attempted grand larceny in the first and second degrees, attempted criminal tax fraud in the first and second degrees, and offering a false instrument for filing.<\/p>\n
He was arraigned at Monroe County CAP court and will appear in the Town of Webster Court on April 22.<\/p>\n
